Classification
Anti-arrhythmic
Indication
Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardias, cardiac dysrhythmias.
Dosage form
6 mg/2 ml/vial
Dose
Initial dose:
3 mg as a rapid intravenous bolus.
Second dose: If the first dose does not result in elimination of the supraventricular tachycardia within 1 or 2 minutes, then 6 mg should be given also as a rapid intravenous bolus.
Third dose: If the second dose does not result in elimination of the supraventricular tachycardia within 1 or 2 minutes, then 12 mg should be given also as a rapid intravenous bolus.
A maximum total dose of 21 mg or 300 mcg/kg is recommended.
